Goodness gracious has it really been a dozen days since we last spoke. Oh, the living and the letting go and the falling down and getting right back up that we've done since... It's been a bit like living a lifetime in a handful of moments and while I've thought of this space often and the sweet things that I love about the you and I here, well it seemed almost silly to be writing when really there was so much living to be done. I hope you'll forgive my absence. I hope you've been living well wherever your local may be. I hope you'll be excited for me when I say...
We're moving to Maui. Maui. In a little over a month. It's a sudden change. We'll embark on our next great adventure with just the bags we can carry and our hope for a bit of time together to reconnect as a family. Charlie's job has provided a wonderful opportunity to work on the island that some of the most beautiful people I know, personally, like Oprah, okay maybe not so very personally, but still, and Kendra Kay, oh she is the sweetest, and my dear sister too, absolutely love. I'm looking forward to a sort of falling madly for that valley isle. I have this vision of us watching the sunrise from atop Haleakala and all the while seeing our own lives and each other in a new sort of hopeful light. These are the days, I believe, when all those hard fought battles are sort of allowed to fall away, at least for a bit. When on a surfboard and a prayer, we can begin again.
Dude, surf's up. Totally. Up.
Here's to the ride. Here's to you and all the beautiful living you've been up to these early days of 2013.
Be well.
live sweet,

Some days I know I AM this spider, here.
If I whispered a prayer these days past, and for the days waiting up ahead, it'd echo this here.

Beautiful pictures! All the very best as you move to Maui Nicole.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family well in Maui. My husband and I honeymooned there 17.5 years ago. I can still smell the ocean, the pineapples, and the wonderful lotion that soothed my red skin. Xoxo
