a holiday heart check...

posted on: 11.01.2012

We are holiday makers aren't we?
Weaving magic into the days with scents and sounds and feelings that connect us to the past and to the possibilities of the future.  For me and my little heart Halloween is the start of a holiday season of opening up big huge wide and giving 'til there's nothing left to give.  And I don't think I'd have it any other way, you know?  But this little heart of mine, so willing, well, sometimes it begs to be heard and cared for.
This is my feeble attempt.

Join me if you please as I countdown the weeks to Christmas with a sharing of one simple thing I'll do to remind myself of my little heart, and of the sweet things that keep it generously beating, with love.

I'll be stretching this way and that, daily.  I fully expect I will be so nimble come the Friday after Thanksgiving that I will leap over ridiculously long lines of holiday shoppers, oh Lord have mercy... in a single bound to boot and whilst performing a plethora of other awesome feats, as well.  Candy making and gift wrapping will be involved.  Can you just see it? Oh it will be glorious.
Okay perhaps not so much all of that but maybe, just maybe, I'll have a better appreciation of the way this body moves through life, and, also all those awesome feats above, please.

You can find a link to some positively wonderful stretches for moms here, turns out toting a diaper bag and loads of laundry is serious sport-- 'pretty sure all the mamas knew that already, come on.

More about this little heart check project here.
A sweet drool worthy collection of holiday ideas here.

And if you have a link to something beautiful and uplifting you can add it to the sweet collection we're creating below.

And this little diddy, a sort of a beautiful putting to rest of any lingering ghosts...

live sweet,

  4. What a fabulous idea! I love the idea of incorporating self care into the holiday season. If we take care of ourselves, that will make the whole holiday season a lot less stressful!
