and your heart.
When I started funk{e}, like, just the other day, I knew that it had to be meaningful and relevant. It didn't have to be big huge big but I did want it to be big enough to make a difference. Partially, because it's oh so very true I do have the attention span of a teensy tinsy gnat and so if it weren't as beautifully multifaceted as life itself well, it just would not likely hold my attention or my heart for very long at all.
And, you guys, I am oh so smitten.
Somewhere beneath the mounds of recycled t-shirts this project stole my heart and I don't know where it will lead but I sure am head over heels committed to following where it goes.
Next week we will launch a beautiful "We Are The Makers of Pearls": Get One, Give One, campaign with Queen's Medical Center, a local hospital that has a strong oncology department and has graciously agreed to pass along a funk{e} scarf, for every one purchased, to a woman who has lost their hair in their fight with cancer.
And...
I need your help.
I would love to have as many beautiful bloggers be a part of this show of support for, and solidarity with our mothers, sisters, wives, daughters and friends who bravely stare down this terrible disease.
If you would like to help spread the word in a blog post, Facebook update, Pinterest pin, tweet or by good old fashioned word of mouth it would mean the whole wide world to me and to those whose lives will be touched by this campaign.
I can offer you my whole-hearted gratitude and, whilst not nearly enough to thank you fully, will gladly provide you a large ad space for one month on Local Sugar Hawaii as well as a mention in both a post about the campaign and in tweets and Facebook posts about our efforts.
Oh you guys, I am always so amazed at the beautiful power of brave blogger voices and would be honored if you would raise yours with me in sweet support in the days ahead.
live sweet,

Goodness thought I was seeing things when you mentioned Queen's Medical Center - except that it's spelt differently to the one I know in Nottingham, England, UK, which is spelt Centre! Both institutions obviously do great work, in similar fights against the world's sickness and ill health.
ReplyDeleteHave called in as a result of the Blog Hop you are hosting today, and invite you to call in at my site - www.ColdhamCuddliescalling.blogspot.com where I post about the plushies I make, mend and otherwise create - and then try to sell at www.Etsy.com/shop/coldhamcuddlies. We love to have you Follow us, comment and visit us - look forward to seeing you around soon.
Meanwhile, good luck with all your endeavours!
